Club Rush 2016
"I have this theory that if one person can go out of their way to show compassion, then it will start a chain reaction of the same. People will never know how far a little kindness can go."
The above quote is from Rachel Scott. She was the first student killed in the school shootings at Columbine High School in 1999. She wrote the above quote in her journal right before she was killed. Rachel’s Challenge is a school wide program that we are excited to announce we will unveil this year at Bear Creek. BCHS Peer Leadership (Conflict Mediation, Link Crew and Student Government) recently created action plans that will bring forth a “Culture of Kindness” at Bear Creek and Rachel’s Challenge will be the cornerstone project.
It will consist of an assembly on September 3rd and training of our BCHS Peer Leadership Team. They will receive training that we will roll out to ALL of BC throughout the year. I have included a link below to the Rachel’s Challenge website if you would like more information. I also attached the schedule of the day so you can plan accordingly.
Our Peer Leadership team felt this project fits perfectly with our mission statement especially “students experience a positive school-wide atmosphere that promotes sportsmanship and self-respect.”
